Do you ever wonder about having one more conversation with someone you’ve lost? This morning, I did. The thing is though… it was fleeting.
I wondered what it might be like if I knew Livvy would be gone and I could have her in my presence one more time. That curious, adventurous spirit that brought out the joy in my very soul. But the moment I pondered it, the realization hit like a calming wave to every fiber of my being.
If she were here, I’d say the same thing to her that I said in every day that we were together, “Hi Livvy-bug, I love you.“
And so – – – the peace, calm, and love that knows we lived with speaking the words we meant so much aloud swept over me. Living the words through our songs and cuddles and play. The depth of feeling gratitude for the years I had with her.
Maybe this will happen again – the “bargaining” stage of grief, coming through like a wave and (most times) without warning. I suppose that is what practicing is for – – – – (off to surf)…
